• July 12, 2006: We toured the ADM Hydroponics & Aquaculture Facility, Decatur. Learn more about ADM's hydroponics. They raise lettuce, cucumbers, tilapia and salt-water shrimp at this facility.


• Mar 16, 2006: Dwain Berggren provided an overview of the Report to the Champaign County Board from the Environmental Advisory Panel. Barb Wysocki discussed ways to build better links between Champaign Co. and the MAC.

• Read about the possible formation of a new water authority in northern Logan Co. in this Peoria Journal Star article. In the April election, voters approved the formation of a water authority by a 2-1 margin.


• Jan 18, 2006: Dr. Craig Bethke, UIUC Dept of Geology, explained how microbes function and influence the distribution of sulfate and arsenic in the Mahomet aquifer. Arsenic is rarely observed where sulfate concentrations are above 0. Read more
